On April 17th and 18th 2019, Deputies with the Pope County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with Arkansas Community Corrections, Arkansas State Police, U.S. Marshalls, Atkins Police Department, Russellville Police Department, ATU Public Safety, Pottsville Police Department, London Police Department, and Homeland Security Officers conducted compliance checks on all registered sex offenders in the Pope County Area. As a result of this compliance check, some offenders were found to not be in compliance with the terms of their sex offender registration requirements. At this time 3 arrests have been made following the compliance check, with ongoing investigations and arrest warrants being conducted on the remaining offenders. Sheriff Jones would like to thank all the departments who joined together to make this operation successful. As always, we will continue to strive to keep the communities of Pope County safe for our citizens and families.
