Sheriff Shane Jones   


 Sheriff Shane Jones began his law enforcement career as a corrections officer for the Pope County Detention Center in January of 1996.  In 1998, he was promoted to Patrol Deputy and served in that capacity, working his way through the ranks to Patrol Sergeant and then Patrol Lieutenant.  In 2014, Jones made the decision to run for election to the office of Sheriff of Pope County.  Having won the primary, and with no other opponent, Sheriff Jones was sworn into office on January 1, 2015 making him the 51st Sheriff of Pope County. Throughout his career, Sheriff Jones has been certified in various courses of law enforcement, including Tactical Officer Survival School, Field Training Officer, Certified Law Enforcement Instructor, Advanced Supervision, Firearms Instructor Course and Arkansas Sheriff's Association Sheriffs' School. Sheriff Jones is a graduate of Plainview High School and ALETA. 




Chief Deputy Blake Wilson          




Chief Deputy Blake E. Wilson began his law enforcement career with the Arkansas State Police in 1984.  He retired December 31, 2014 and accepted the position as Chief Deputy of the Pope County Sheriff’s Office January 1, 2015.  While serving with the Arkansas State Police, he was selected Trooper of the year in 2007.  That same year, he received the department’s highest award, the Medal of Valor.  In 2008, he was named by the Arkansas State Attorney General’s Office as Officer of the Year.  Chief Wilson is a graduate of the Criminal Justice School of Supervision and the FBI/CJI Arkansas Leader Program.  He is a native of Pope County, graduated from Russellville High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. 


Captain Scott Rentfro

Captain Scott Rentfro serves as Patrol Captain for the sheriff’s office.  He began his career  in 1983 in the detention center as a dispatcher.  After three years, he was promoted to Patrol Deputy and graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) eventually becoming a shift supervisor.  In 2009, Rentfro was assigned as Patrol Captain, where he oversees all uniformed deputies within the Pope County Sheriff’s Department, including road deputies, transport and specialty services. Throughout his 33 years with the sheriff's office, Captain Rentfro has been certified in many courses, including School of Law Enforcement Supervision, FBI/CJI Arkansas Leader, Firearms Instructor, Incident Command System for Federal Disaster Workers, Advanced Principles of Supervision, Foundations of Supervision and Certified Police Professional Instructor.  Captain Rentfro graduated from Russellville High School and ALETA.
