The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Pope County Sheriff’s Office is under the leadership of Lieutenant Jacob “Dain” Yarbrough.  There are four full time investigators, Lt. Dain Yarbrough, Investigator Erick Riggs, Investigator Chris Ridenhour, Investigator Russell Hill, and one assistant, Samantha Albin, within the division.  CID is also supported by two Arkansas State Police investigators as well as two State Police Crimes Against Children Division Investigators.

CID investigates all felony crimes that occur in the unincorporated areas of Pope County.  Upon the completion of an initial report by a uniformed deputy, CID will begin a follow-up investigation.  CID is responsible for processing and cataloging evidence at crime scenes.  CID investigators also prepare affidavits for arrest warrants, search warrants, interview witnesses, victims and suspects, testify in court and perform many other related duties.

CID is responsible for registering and verifying sex offenders who live in the unincorporated areas of the county. There are approximately 179 registered sex offenders in Pope County.
